I'm just weird I suppose and want the colors to match up. The black port is for rear surround speakers and the gray is for side, so obviously moving the cable from the black to the gray port solves the problem, but it seems like I used to be able to plug the black cable in to the black port and specify that it is actually side speakers. The plug from the woofer that connects to the output on the PC is black so I had it plugged in to the black output port. The reason I ask I noticed that my Logitech z506 side speakers were not working. Would someone be so kind as to try this out on their system and see if they get the popups for every port? I swear it used to pop up for me every time something was plugged in on any port, but perhaps I'm mistaken. However when I plug the cable in to Pink (Microphone), Black(Rear Speaker Out) or Gray (Side Speaker Out) it only highlights the port at the bottom of the page but doesn't let me select what I have plugged in. I know there is the option in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, "Enable auto popup dialog, when device has been plugged in." I have that enabled and when I plug a 3.5 mm cable in to the Green (Front Speaker Out) or the Blue (Line In) it pops up asking what I have connected and lets me select what it is. I was curious if any of you could test something for me on your system: Took a week for me to have a working board in my hands. Everyone I spoke to was very professional and helpful. First of all wanted to give props to ASUS for a smooth RMA on my Crosshair V Formula-Z.
